Rockhopper Apps wants to ensure we can leverage all the technology your mobile device supports. This is why we developed native apps over hybrid.
Hybrid Apps is a technology write code once to support multiple device platforms such as iOS, Android, Windows, and Blackberry mobile devices.
Native Apps is using the original manufacture framework to develop apps.
It may sound compelling to make Hybrid Apps because they are often described as the easiest route to support all device platforms and save from development costs. It is important to note however; the user  does not get the same performance compare to a Native App. For example, the original Facebook App was hybrid. When Facebook learned “we realized that when it comes to platforms like iOS, people expect a fast, reliable experience and our iOS app was falling short.†as noted in their article Under the hood: Rebuilding Facebook for iOS this finding lead Facebook to redevelop their app to a Native App to offer a better product. Rockhopper Apps learned other industry leaders had related experiences that lead them to re-develop their apps into a Native App.
Another issue with hybrid apps, is when the mobile device manufacture adds new features, the hybrid app framework requires the vendor to extend their framework to support this feature. Because Rockhopper Apps only develops Native Apps, we can give the user access to these new features immediately.
